Day 313 Outfit: Wow. It’s been a while since I’ve done a late night, just woke up from a couch nap edition. The week caught up with me and I passed out watching Iron Man 3 on Starz. Tomorrow will be better, I promise. I’ll be seeing Kaw-Liga and Petey in one place!!!!! The puppies are meeting for the first time!!! AAAAAAAAH!!! CUTENESS ALERT!!!!!
Jeans - Gap, Tank & Blouse - Old Navy (This is probably the 2nd time I have ever worn this old blouse. It just fits funny.) Necklace - Lia Sophia, Watch - TKO
Day 312 Outfit: We are getting a kitten!!!! The dog adoption agency that my mother got Petey from randomly found an adorable stray kitten at the JFK airport warehouse where they pick up rescue dogs. She took the kitten with her back to CT and as soon as I saw the post on FB I knew we needed her!! So after she gets her shots and gets spayed we will be able to take her home:-) Her name is Kennedy, by the way - so cute!!! I keep worrying that something is going to go wrong and we won’t get to keep her - I can only imagine what parents go through adopting human babies, hahaha!
Skirt & headband - Missoni for Target, Top - UAL purchase, Shoes - Marco Santi, Ring & Necklace - Lia Sophia, Bracelet - Jewelmint, Sunnies - House of Harlow, Bag - My Other Bag - isn’t it great? My dream bag is this Chanel classic so I fell in love this cheeky (and affordable) homage. They have a full line of these totes featuring other famous (and expensive) bags.
Day 311 Outfit: Another super casual day. I’ve been running around the office like crazy trying to catch up from my short vacation, so wearing comfy clothes is a must. These Sauconys are my most comfortable sneakers. The blue on blue when I am wearing dark denim tends to look a bit Smurfy. That’s why I like pairing them with my grey jeans instead! Sorry for the odd angle on my full length photo. The hubby was feeling creative hahaha!
Top - Gap, Tank & Jeans - Old Navy, Bracelet - Jewelmint, Necklace - gift, Sneaks - Saucony, Bag - Kate Spade
Day 310 Outfit: My family had some sad news this morning. One of my mother’s oldest and dearest friends was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street and was killed yesterday. My heart breaks for Janice’s family and friends.
Posting today feels a bit silly in light of this news but not posting is just as silly, I suppose. There have been quite a few sad days this past year and this goofy blog has sort of been my diary along the way. I almost did not write about Janice because it is just so tragic, but I am thinking about her today. I could say something about life being short and live for today, yadda yadda yadda, but honestly I am just sad. So there it is.
Top - 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target, Tank - Target, Jeans - Gap, Sunnies - Westward Leaning, Shoes - Payless, Bag - Kate Spade, Necklace and two colored bracelets - Lia Sophia, Gold Bracelet - a gift from my bestie Beana who got it for me in honor of another friend who was taken too soon - felt right to wear it today.
Day 309 Outfit: Sorry but you are getting a lazy camera phone shot tonight! Let’s just blame it on Monday and not on the new 3DS game my hubby got me hooked on called Tomodachi Life. You create an island filled with miis - I am determined to fill my apartment building with all my fave Mad Men characters. So far I made Don, Joan, Pete and Peggy. I also made Ray Donovan because I am again obsessed with Liev Schreiber. What a freaking FILF!
Top - Stylemint, Tank, Cardi & Jeans - Old Navy, Sneaks - Converse, Hair Scarf - Missoni for Target
Day 308 Outfit: I am enjoying a lovely lazy Sunday. I am completely caught up on Pretty Little Liars and the Leftovers. The Leftovers is pretty good so far but I think it needs some balance - it is way too depressing without any levity. The best dramatic shows have a good sense of humor, such as the Wire, Mad Men, True Detective, Sopranos, Game of Thrones, etc. Once it stops taking itself so seriously I think it can be a great show. I’ll keep watching for some quality Justin Theroux action, regardless.
Dress - American Apparel (I have this convertible dress in two colors but I only wear it around the house b/c of it’s shortness and cleave factor - I had fun making this sweetheart neckline but it does not want to stay up!), Top - Stylemint, Shoes - Softspots (another pair of heels I literally had to dust off), Ring - Rachel Zoe, Necklace - Bauble Bar, Bag - This is an amazing gift from my Bestie Beana - pretty sure she found it at Target. She is for realz the best gift giver ever.
Day 307 Outfit: We had a lovely day attending an engagement/housewarming party in Madison, and we decided to explore a bit of the area while we were out there. That meant making a stop by the historic Chester-Hadlyme Ferry dock (ferry was closed - not that the hubby would have wanted to get on a boat) and the Goodspeed Opera House, which is seriously gorgeous. You can actually see a glimpse of it in the reflection of my sunglasses! We are totally going to see a show there soon. They are launching a production of Irving Berlin’s Holiday Inn, so I am totally in for that. Sometimes I seriously love Connecticut and today was one of those days.
Dress - Ann Taylor LOFT, Cardi - Old Navy, Sunnies - Opening Ceremony, Shoes - Payless, Bag - Kate Spade, Necklace - gift from a friend, Bracelets - the green and blue are Lia Sophia, the pink sparkly one is Swarovski
Day 306 Outfit: If you couldn’t tell from my facial expression, I am so ready for the weekend! And if you couldn’t tell from my t-shirt, I am one of the many Zach Braff fans who backed his Kickstarter funded movie Wish I Was Here. I did so well before this year off of shopping began but I just got the t-shirt in the mail when I got back from vacation - so yippeee for new clothing!!!!!! I can’t wait to watch the flick - I adored Garden State and I think this will be in a similar vein. Screw the haters - I was happy to be a backer - and the t-shirt is adorable.
Tshirt- Wish I Was Here Kickstarter Backer perk, Cardigan - Jason Wu for Target, Bag - Nine West, Scarf on bag - Emilio Pucci (it is really gorgeous and star shaped), Pants - Old Navy, Watch - TKO, Hair scarf - Gap (I think - it is super old), Sneaks - Keds, Belt - Levis
Day 305 Outfit: Hubby and I are having our typical date night of dinner and a movie. Unfortunately the movie we went to see, Snowpiercer, was in the little theater with a blu-ray player and the disc kept skipping every minute or so. We were so frustrated, we left, got a refund and are now watching the movie on demand from the comfort of our home in gorgeous high definition! From what we have seen, this movie is freaking awesome - definitely recommend renting it.
Dress - Calvin Klein, Chambray top - Stylemint, Shoes - Payless, Bag - Kate Spade, Necklace - Amrita Singh
Throwback to Day 301 Outfit!! While I was on vacation I had limited computer access, which meant having to post camera phone pics most days. However on Day 301 we happened to be carrying the nice camera around this gorgeous setting, so my new fave personal photographer (my bestie Beana) was nice enough to take a slew of extra pics:-) Hope you like them!
Jeans & Tank - Old Navy, Button down - St. John’s Bay for JCPenney, Bag - Kate Spade, Necklace - gift from my sister in law - made by a friend of hers, Bracelet & scarf - no clue
